Chick-Fil-A Boycott…..SIKE!!!!!!!
Same sex union is a huge topic for debate amongst many circles these days. You can here the discussion in many different places, ranging from the barber shop, all the way to Capital Hill. It doesn’t matter what your opinion is, it will ruffle someones feathers (no pun intended). So when Dan Cathy, President of Chick-Fil-A gave his opinion on the subject, I didn’t think that it would make such a fuss…….but I was wrong.

Cathy told the Baptist Press last month that the Atlanta-based company was “guilty as charged” for backing “the biblical definition of a family.” So many organizations have gone as far as to boycott Chick-Fil-A. His simple statement caused an uproar among many Gay organizations, calling for all supporters to boycott Chick-Fil-A, saying that they support Anti-Gay groups. So to counter that former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a Baptist minister, declared Wednesday “Chick-fil-a Appreciation Day”. Which was a HUGE success.

Just my opinion:
I don’t think that this is that big of a shock to me. Chick-fil-a has always been a Christian based company, way before this was even an issue. You could see how they run their organization as a whole. The most obvious reason is because Chick-fil-a is closed on Sundays. Since Truett Cathy, founder & CEO of Chick-fil-a, opened doors in 1946 he has made his Closed-on-Sunday policy as much a part of the Chick-Fil-A brand as the original Chicken Sandwich. Cathy’s practice of closing restaurants on Sunday is a testament to his faith in God. Cathy knew that he would not deal with money on the “Lord’s Day”. Today, the Closed-On-Sunday policy is reflected in the company’s Corporate Purpose”:
To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us. To have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-Fil-A.
Now when the Corporate Purpose is “To glorify God by being a faithful steward…” why is it a big deal that they are backing “the biblical definition of a family.”? And at the same time, it’s not like as an organization, they won’t serve homosexuals or deny their employment. It’s just a Christian based organization, giving a Christian based answer. With NO Disrespect to Chick-Fil-A, but it’s not like President Obama or even Mitt Romney said it…It was just a fast food chain.

I think that Gay organizations used this as a ploy to expand their “equal rights” mission. When people are trying to push a cause, they are looking for any platform to latch onto. I know plenty of Gays that LOVE Chick-Fil-A, so this might be the hot topic at the moment, but they will be killing that No.1 with Cheese, Large Fries, & Peach Shake by the middle of next week. To quote the GREAT Chuck D…..”Don’t Believe the Hype”.
Chick-Fil-A is a great Corporation, with a Great Corporate Policy, that sells AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS FOOD. And even tho, I wasn’t their for “Appreciation Day” on Wednesday, I definitely respect them for voicing their opinions and standing by their core beliefs; regardless of who they offend.
